Anything your browser can play can be converted; formats browsers cannot play, such as AVI and WMV, cannot be opened.

Frequently asked questions
Why does conversion take as long as the video?
Browsers ship a recorder, not an offline encoder. The video plays once into it, in real time — which is also why nothing has to be uploaded.
Can it convert AVI, WMV or FLV?
No. Only formats your browser can play can be opened, and browsers do not play AVI, WMV or FLV.
Will the quality drop?
Every conversion re-encodes, so choose High to keep it visually the same. The file size then depends on the resolution you choose.
Is MP4 or WebM better?
MP4 plays on everything, including iPhones, TVs and editing apps. WebM is well suited to websites and is what Firefox records.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It is read and re-recorded in this tab, so it stays on your device.
