How much smaller will my video get?
It depends mostly on resolution and bitrate. Phone videos recorded in 4K or 1080p often shrink by 70–90% at 720p with the balanced quality. A video that was already heavily compressed may not get much smaller.
How do I compress a video to under 25 MB?
Type 25 in the target size box. The tool sets the video bitrate from the length of your video so the result lands just under that size, leaving room for the sound and the file container.
Does compression lower the quality?
Some detail is always traded for size. At 720p and the balanced setting most people cannot see a difference on a phone; the smallest setting is best for recordings of slides and screens rather than fast motion.
Why does it take as long as the video?
The browser’s encoder works in real time: the video is played once into it. The upside is that nothing is uploaded and there is no queue or file-size limit.
Can I remove the sound from a video?
