How can rotation be lossless?
MP4 and MOV files contain a display matrix that tells players how to orient the picture. Changing it rotates the video in every standard player without touching a single frame.
Why does mirroring take longer?
A mirrored picture is different pixels, so it has to be re-encoded. That happens in real time with your browser’s encoder.
Will the rotated video play everywhere?
Every modern player and platform honours the rotation flag — phones, browsers, YouTube, WhatsApp, QuickTime and VLC.
Does it work for long videos?
Yes. The lossless path only reads the file’s index, so a one-hour video rotates as quickly as a short clip.
Why does my video still look sideways in one app?
A few older players and some video editors ignore the rotation flag. For those, choose a flip or mirror as well, or use Video Converter afterwards, which re-encodes the picture so it is upright on its own.
