The page preview draws the PDF’s own text lines, so you can line new text up with the form fields around it.
Added text is real text in Helvetica, Times or Courier — selectable, searchable and sharp at any zoom — with the size, colour, bold and italic you choose. A white-out box covers words you want to replace, and images such as a signature from the Signature Generator or a company logo can be placed and sized on any page. Nothing is uploaded; the edited PDF is written in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
Not directly — PDF text is laid out as fixed positions, not paragraphs. The dependable way, used by most PDF editors, is to cover the old words with a white-out box and type the new ones on top.
Does white-out remove the text underneath?
No. It hides it visually, but the original text is still in the file and can be copied or found by search. Do not use it to redact confidential information.
Why is my page preview blank?
The preview is drawn from the text stored in the PDF. A scanned page is a picture, so it has no text to draw — your additions still land exactly where you place them.
Can I add text in other languages?
Yes. Latin letters are added as real text; other scripts such as Arabic, Hindi or Chinese are placed as a sharp image of the text, because the fonts built into every PDF reader do not include them.
Is this the same as signing a PDF?
You can place a signature image, which is what most forms need. It is not a certificate-based digital signature that proves who signed.
