The pitch voices use a time-domain pitch shifter, so the words keep their timing instead of speeding up; the others combine filters, distortion, ring modulation and delay, the same building blocks used in studio effects. Everything is rendered in your browser, faster than real time, and your recording is never sent anywhere.

Does it work live, like on a call?
No — it changes recordings. Record or open a clip, choose a voice and save the result. That also means the effect is exact and repeatable.
Why does the chipmunk voice not sound sped up?
It is a pitch shift, not a speed change: each syllable keeps its original length, which sounds more natural than playing the tape fast.
Can I use the result in a video?
Yes. The WAV file imports into any video editor, from CapCut and iMovie to Premiere and DaVinci Resolve.
Is my recording stored?
Only in this tab while you work. Nothing is uploaded, and closing the page discards it.
Which browsers can record?
Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all can. The browser asks for microphone permission the first time.
