Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between reverb and echo?
Reverb is thousands of reflections blending into a smooth wash that tells your ear the size of a room. Echo is a few separate, audible repeats of the sound, as from a distant wall or cliff.
How much reverb should I use on vocals?
Less than you think: 15–25% with a short to medium decay (0.8–1.5 s) adds space without blurring the words. Spoken word usually sounds best with the Vocal plate or Small room preset.
Why is the downloaded file longer than the original?
The reverb tail and echo repeats continue after the last sound, so the output is extended to let them fade out naturally.
Why WAV rather than MP3?
Browsers can decode MP3 but not encode it. WAV is lossless and opens everywhere; convert it to MP3 afterwards if you need a smaller file.
Is my recording uploaded?
No. Decoding, effects and encoding all run in your browser.
