Record Your Screen Without Installing Anything
Screen recorders are a category where "free" usually means a watermark, a five-minute limit, an account, or an upload to someone else’s storage. All four are unnecessary: the browser has had native screen capture and media recording for years.
This recorder uses those APIs directly. Your browser asks what you want to share and shows its own recording indicator throughout — controls we cannot override, which is exactly as it should be. The video is assembled on your device and saved locally, with no watermark and no time limit beyond your disk space.

Frequently asked questions
Why WebM rather than MP4?
WebM with VP8 or VP9 is what browsers can record natively. Some can produce MP4; the tool picks the best available format automatically. WebM plays in every modern browser and every major editor imports it.
Does this work on iPhone or iPad?
No. Screen capture via getDisplayMedia is not available on iOS at all. Use the system screen recorder in Control Centre instead.
Can I record a video call?
You can capture the window, and system audio if your browser allows it. Whether you may record other participants is a legal and ethical question that varies by jurisdiction — in many places all parties must consent.
Is the recording uploaded?
No. Chunks are collected in memory and assembled into a file on your device. There is no upload and no server.
Why is my file so large?
Screen recording at high bitrate produces a lot of data. Use the standard quality preset for text and slides, which look identical at a fraction of the size.
