RAW files hold the sensor data that photographers develop in Lightroom or Capture One — and nothing else opens them. But every camera also stores a finished JPEG inside the RAW file: the image you saw on the camera’s screen, processed with the camera’s own colours and usually at full resolution. This tool finds that picture and gives it to you as a JPG, with the camera, lens and exposure details alongside.
It works with Canon CR2 and CR3, Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, Fujifilm RAF, Olympus ORF, Panasonic RW2, Pentax PEF, DNG and more. The untouched camera JPEG can be saved directly, with no quality loss, or rotated upright and re-saved. Developing the raw sensor data itself — recovering highlights, changing white balance — still needs a RAW editor.

Frequently asked questions
Is the JPG full resolution?
For most cameras, yes — CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW and RAF files embed a full-size JPEG. Some older models and many phone DNGs only store a small preview; the tool tells you the size it found.
Does it use my Lightroom edits?
No. Edits live in Lightroom’s catalogue or a sidecar file, not in the RAW file. The JPEG reflects the camera’s own settings.
Why do the colours look different from my editor?
Your editor develops the raw data with its own profile; the embedded JPEG uses the camera maker’s. Neither is wrong — they are different interpretations.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The file is read in your browser; large RAW files work as well as small ones.
