Frequently asked questions
What size should an Instagram post be?
Square feed posts are 1080 × 1080 (1:1) and portrait posts are 1080 × 1350 (4:5), which occupies the most vertical space in the feed. Stories and Reels are 1080 × 1920 (9:16).
Does resizing reduce image quality?
Making an image smaller is safe — detail is averaged down cleanly. Enlarging beyond the original resolution cannot invent detail that is not there, so upscaling will always look softer than the source.
Can I crop without resizing?
Yes. Set the crop box where you want it and leave the output dimensions matching the crop size. The tool will export exactly the cropped region at its native resolution.
Does this work on a phone?
Yes. The crop box supports touch gestures, and the interface is built for screens from 320 pixels wide upwards.
